Until recently, the terms fat camp or fat farm were used to describe the summer destinations that children and teenagers went to lose weight. More often than not, those experiences were ntense and they did more harm than good for a number of the children. In most cases, the weight loss was temporary and the process was very demeaning. Today, fitness programs for kids are different because they focus on a balanced approach to weight loss that teach children life-long healthy living strategies instead of quick fixes. As a parent who is looking around for a weight loss program for your child or teen, here are a few things that you will want to take into account to assist you as you decide what option is the best for your situation.
