Keeping Your Kids Healthy With Juicing

I do not usually make New Years resolutions, but this year I decided to set some goals to boost my family’s health. It is a good time to make a new start but you can do it any time of year, just by setting a date and deciding to make a change on that date.

My main aim, this year, was to get my kids to eat more vegetables and fruit, especially over the winter months when the are more prone to colds and other viruses. In particular, I wanted them to eat more fresh produce, and preferably organic produce from the grocery store. In their natural state they provide an abundance of minerals and vitamins, important for all aspects of a healthy life.

Getting kids to eat more fruit and vegetables is no easy task. I did find a solution, though, with juicing. This is great at making sure they benefit from all the nutritious properties of freshly squeezed juice. The different combinations you can make also stops them from getting bored.

These are the main benefits of juicing for children:

1. I have found that involving the kids in the making ot the juice is a fun event and a great way to bond. They can stand on a chair and help you push all the fruit and vegetables through the machine. Not only do they enjoy it but they appreciate the drink more and will drink it with no fuss. Clean up is simple as well. taking only about ten minutes.

2. If your children do not really like to eat vegetables, then this is a great way to get them to consume them in their raw state, providing even greater benefits. No more unpleasant dinner times and arguments. You can also get them to eat a wider range of vegetables that you would not normally be able to get them to eat.

3. Do your children drink a lot of sodas? Mine certainly did, and if yours do, then you will finding juicing is the perfect solution. Drinking fresh juices will reduce the consumption of these drinks quite considerably. This is a good thing as they are just empty calories containing many additives. These can be responsible for childhood obesity and chronic illness later in life. Also, you will find you save money by not spending it on these drinks.

If you have not set any goals for this, then take a look at juicing and boosting your kids health. Not only is it great fun and a good opportunity for bonding but it is also a vital investment in your children’s health.
