In recent years, I have developed a great love for tea. I used to only drink coffee or diet soda, but I had to change my daily beverages because I developed an intolerance to the strong caffeine in coffee. Soda was also beginning to bother my stomach. A colleague suggested green tea as a replacement.

Upon hearing all of the amazing health benefits of tea, I decided to give green tea a try. All tea is pretty good for you. They contain phytochemicals that are able to fight free radical damage, which prevents aging and disease. As well, they are a zero calorie beverage that can also boost your metabolism and fat burning.

In my research, I also stumbled across wu yi tea, which has similar health benefits. I could not seem to find any at the store, so I stuck with my friend’s suggestion.

Unfortunately, the green tea was a bit too “green” for my liking. It had a sort of grassy, bitter flavor. I do not know. Maybe the green color was just a bit too much for this coffee lover.

I even began flavoring the tea with sweeteners and cream. Lemon did not work either. And of course, adding all that sugar was not doing much for my once healthy drink.

After searching endlessly for wu yi tea at local markets, I decided to order some from the internet. You have to be careful because I did find some auto-ship scams. I finally went with a trusted wu yi source and ordered.

Wu yi tea is a lot more like black tea in flavor. It is processed a bit more than green tea, so the flavor is similar to black tea, but wu yi tea maintains more of its nutrients like green tea.

Yes! No more bitter tea, great flavor, yet all the great nutrients and weight loss boosters!

The caffeine in wu yi tea does not bother me either. I used to never be able to drink coffee after 2 or so in the afternoon, but I can drink wu yi tea right up into the evening and it does not affect my ability to sleep. If you have had trouble with caffeine and sleeping in the past, you might not want to test this theory.

Try wu yi tea iced, too. Be sure to let it cool and then pour it over ice. I use an herbal blend along with the wu yi tea. I even make green tea, wu yi tea and blueberry tea together for a great fruity drink on a hot day.

Some people really enjoy green tea, so give it a try if you would like. Wu yi, though, is a much more pleasing beverage.

In fact, wu yi tea is oolong tea. But not all oolong tea is wu yi tea. This may sound a bit confusing. Let's talk about the various teas and then you will understand.

In fact, wu yi tea is oolong tea. But not all oolong tea is wu yi tea. This may sound a bit confusing. Let’s talk about the various teas and then you will understand.

First of all, real tea is all from the plant Camellia sinensis. There are four different varieties: white tea, green tea, oolong tea and black tea. The variety depends on the processing.

Over 75% of tea produced in the world is the highly popular black tea. The leaves are harvested and then withered by leaving them out. The remaining moisture is then rolled out via a machine (CTC) or the old-fashioned way by hand (orthodox). The hand method leaves the tea in tact more while the CTC method is a bit harsher leaving the leaves more crushed.

After rolling, the leaves are left in a cool, damp spot, all spread out to oxidize. They go from a greenish color to a browner, amber color. Hot air is used to dry them. The tea is eventually sorted based on the leaf size and divided up into various grades of tea.

In processing green tea, the process is similar expect that there is no oxidation. Instead, the green tea leaves are steamed immediately after being dried to stop any oxidation process. The nutrients are also left more in tact. However, the tea has a sort of grassy taste without the oxidation process.

White tea comes from the “baby” leaves on the Camellia sinensis plant. It can only be harvested a few days in a year when the buds of the plant have yet to fully open. It is then processed similarly to green tea, but because the leaves are so young, the tea has a smoother, more delicate flavor. White tea has only been available for worldwide distribution as it was once reserved only for the Chinese nobility. True white tea remains rather expensive.

Oolong tea is the best of both worlds because it is only partially oxidized. This allows it to taste similar to black tea, but retain more of the natural nutrients as green tea. Obviously, this is an advantage because if you would like to reap the health benefits of green tea, but you prefer the flavor and aroma of black tea, you will enjoy oolong tea more.

So, what of the naming business? Not all oolong tea is wu yi tea because wu yi tea has to be grown in the Wuyi mountain chain to be called by that name. It is simply oolong tea produced in a particular area that is well suited for growing oolong tea.

It is sort of like “New Zealand” kiwis, only they leave the oolong completely out of the name. Oolong tea can be grown in other regions, but the quality may not match that of wu yi tea. The mountain range has a great climate and fantastic soil for growing oolong tea.

Just like white tea, wu yi was once only given as a gift to the higher ups in China. Finally, wu yi tea has become quite popular in the Western world. It is widely available on the internet. The popularity is likely due to its great flavor as well as nutritional value.

You might have heard of acai berries by now. They are one of the superfoods, containing mass amounts of antioxidants as well as B vitamins and amino acids. More importantly, they contain anthocyanins which are phytochemicals. Phytochemicals are a new area being researched. They are a natural component of plants meant to protect the plant from damage and disease. We receive similar benefits when we eat the plant.

Because of all of those nutrients, acai berries are beneficial in preventing disease and slowing the signs of aging. They can also benefit weight loss efforts when proper diet and exercise are also used. They have antioxidant properties and anti-inflammatory capabilities.

The antioxidants neutralize free radicals and repair the damage already done. Inflammation alone is responsible for many disease processes such as atherosclerosis. Both free radicals and inflammation are behind the aging process.

Unfortunately, you cannot head to the local supermarket and purchase whole acai berries in the produce department. These gorgeous purple berries are grown in the Amazon, and the only products available at the grocery store are juices and frozen mixes meant for drinks or sauces. Be sure to check the label to see how much of the product is acai berries and how much is sugar or corn syrup. You might be able to find a powder form as well.

For the most part, acai berries available to us are in a supplement form. Liquid extracts, powders and pills containing natural acai berry extract are sold in health food stores and on the internet. The health news on these gorgeous purple berries leads to a boom in the development of supplements. Unfortunately, the popularity also leads to acai berry fraud.

The most common acai berry fraud is one in which a free trial is offered. The unsuspecting customer signs up and gives his or her credit card to the company to pay a minor shipping and handling charge. What they do not realize is they are signing up for an auto-shipment program. Suddenly (in some cases two days) a charge appears on their credit card for $50 or more for a bottle of acai berry supplement. Upon calling the company, they are given the runaround and some report to having to make several phone calls, all the while their credit card is still being charged.

Another acai berry fraud is the weight loss supplement scam. Promises are made (all with small print disclaimers of course) that weight loss can be achieved solely by taking the acai supplement. Unfortunately, no magic bullet exists and people end up wasting their money and never losing a pound.

It is unfortunate that the con-artists have given a bad name to such a wonderful gift from Mother Nature. In the end, you have to check websites carefully to make sure they have some sort of seal by the Better Business Bureau or other entity that checks a company’s authenticity and business practices. As well, make sure you read the fine print. Look for credible companies with pure acai berry supplements or products.

Look for the acai berry fraud. Go there and learn which acai berry brand you can trust.

Rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, mineral salts, tannin acid, caffeine, flavonoids, volatile oils and polyphenols, green tea has proven to be beneficial in preventing or treating various diseases.

Due to all these ingredients, green tea is an excellent antioxidant and diuretic, stimulating the brain and the process of burning fat. Recent studies have shown that green tea fights successfully against cancer.

We have everything we need to improve our health, but we are unable to fight against certain environmental and social factors that harm our body and mind. Despite the fact that we follow effective diets and exercise on a regular basis, it is still not enough. Does it really helps to drink green tea for a better health?

As a natural remedy for the prevention of dental caries, green tea is the most used treatment. Researches showed that green tea contains a compound that destroys the bacteria Streptococus mutans that contributes directly to caries occurrence. In Japan, the low percentage of caries is due to the habit of drinking green tea as a dessert.

People who drink green tea regularly have the level of harmful cholesterol reduced to half, compared to those who don’t consume this tea, but have a similar diet. By drinking 4-5 cups of green tea every day, you will be able to control the cholesterol level. Avoid using medical doses of green tea for an unlimited period, because it may stimulate the nervous system.

Green tea has been traditionally used to adjust glycemia. Studies conducted on animals have shown that it could be used to prevent the evolution of type 1 diabetes and to slow its progress, if it exists.

This amazing tea is a great remedy for various digestive disorders, including diarrhea, heartburn, irritation of the stomach and gastritis. If you suffer from stomach acidity, consume the tea during meals.

Diarrhea is caused mostly by stress, bacterial infection or a bad diet. Also, some food allergies can cause stomach pain and diarrhea. Green tea helps in restoring the intestine functions. Last but not least, green tea replaces the fluid lost from the body and has a beneficial effect in the diarrhea caused by stress.

Green tea benefits don’t stop here, because it burns the extra fat and reduces the assimilation of carbohydrates and lipids, suppressing the appetite. Moreover, it increases the concentration and intellectual ability, due to its high content of theine and polyphenols. Drink daily this miracle tea and you’ll feel more optimistic and full of life!

A key ingredient to improving your lifestyle and living a healthy life is antioxidants. There are several antioxidant supplements out there that can help you live a healthy life, that are natural and won’t cause you any damage. You can also eat different types of food that contain antioxidants as well, although supplements are the ideal way to get the right amounts of antioxidants.

If you take in more antioxidants through food and supplements, there are a few benefits that you’ll have, with the first being cell protection. Antioxidants can help to protect your cells from damage, which helps to fend off diseases. Many times, you can have a lack of vitamins in your body, which will cause you to recover from diseases or injury very slow. If you have the right amount of vitamins and antioxidants in your body, you’ll notice the differences.

In most cases, you can get antioxidant supplements in the form of herbal or natural, which will greatly help your body. They have a lot of benefits as well, such as preventing various diseases, keeping blood clotting under control, and restoring libido. Nutrition and proper dieting is a very important part of life, therefore you should always keep your health under control and make sure you eat well.

There are non synthetic supplements out there as well, that are ideal for keeping your health maintained. They can be easily absorbed by your body, unlike that of synthetic supplements. Synthetic supplements are well known for their absorbing, as it can take a long time before you see any type of results. Non synthetic on the other hand, gives you almost immediate results, as they are easily absorbed by the body and don’t have any type of side effects.

Keep in mind that even though you may be taking vitamins that contain antioxidants, you’ll still need to remain on a healthy diet. You’ll need food that contains the minerals and vitamins you need as well, although the supplement vitamins will give you more. You can also use vitamins and supplements that contain antioxidants if you aren’t able to eat the right foods that contain these precious nutrients.

For more reasons than one, you should always make sure that you include foods and supplements that contain antioxidants in your diet. If you aren’t taking in the right amount of antioxidants, you’ll be at a risk for disease or other harmful effects. Antioxidants do a lot for your body, which is why you want to ensure that you are taking in the right amounts. You can find many different vitamins and supplements that include them, all you need to do is make sure that you are eating right and doing all you can to lead a healthy lifestyle.
