<p>This finding is also supported by the Centre for Human Nutrition, which says that the body fat distribution has a greater effect on heart attack risks rather than the Body Mass Index, which is the ratio of the body height to the weight.</p>
<p>Your body shape says much about your health. You may have a shape like an apple, a pear, or you might be even. If you have large thighs, hips, and bottom, then you have a lower risk for heart attack than someone who has a big tummy and skinny legs.</p>
<p>The waist-to-hip ratio is the accurate predictor of heart attack risk.</p>
<p>How do you get your waist-to-hip ratio?</p>
<p>Measure your waist and hip, and divide the former by the latter. So if you hips measure 40 inches and your waist 34 inches, your hip-to-waist ratio is 0.85. If you&#8217;re a man, then this is great news, but if you&#8217;re a woman, you should be aware that this is on the limit of healthy.</p>
