			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I bought this mat to go over my wood flooring so that I can do stretching and some other exercise routines. It&#8217;s a GREAT mat.</p>
<p>This is a great yoga mat. I&#8217;ve tried a few different mats at my gym, all were short, flimsy, and slick, and this mat is the exact opposite.</p>
<p>Worth the extra money, my first Manduka took a beating. It survived doing yoga on damp cement floors for a year in India&#8230;on dirt&#8230;jute, cleans up easily too.</p>
<p>I was unable to hold any of the poses that required stretching my legs and feet without slipping. After spending $80 on this mat I was not ready to spend another $50 on a yoga towel to cover it. Despite a claim that it is &#8220;non-toxic,&#8221; I did my research and sure enough, it is made with PVC! PVC is an extremely toxic material used in cars and vinyl shower curtains, among others. I could hardly catch my breath; it must have belonged to an instructor who&#8217;d forgotten it. I grabbed the mat and proceeded to have an incredible session. I&#8217;ve hauled this heavy thing from California, to Texas, NYC, Florida and back. Although it&#8217;s heavy to carry around it&#8217;s well worth it. I am enjoying this new mat. I have tried putting it in the sun to make it stickier, but maybe I have not done it enough times.</p>
<p>The thickness provides much more comfort for some yoga positions. You get a good firm grip without sticking to the mat and dragging it with you when you change positions. I did not think that I should invest in such an expensive mat with my limited ability, but it has made a big difference. The thick padding helps my bones a lot (I am on Medicare) and I do not slip as much so my practice has been better as a result. Finally I have found the mat that feels right for my yoga. I am enjoying it every day for the new dimension it is bringing to my yoga practice, and the feeling that I have made a wise purchase. This time I used a bath scrubber and gentle dishwashing liquid which finally eliminated the smell. I practice hatha yoga once to twice a week with occasional hot yoga. The chemical smell that I had read about is definitely noticeable the first few times you use it but goes away rather quickly. It&#8217;s a lovely, high quality mat.</p>
<p>I just didn&#8217;t see what was so great about this one. For that price it should do yoga FOR YOU.</p>

<p>In the past I have purchased the cheaper $15 &#8211; $20 mats and there is a definite difference. This mat stays in place on the floor and does not bunch up.</p>
<p>It is so comfortable to use and I do not find it that heavy to tote around. I have a pretty good case of arthritis and this Manduka has made all of the difference in my practice. I didn&#8217;t like it very much; it slid around more (both on hard wood floors and carpet). I decided to get another Manduka and I&#8217;m thrilled to have one again. I would recommend it in a second for any serious or professional yogi. It&#8217;s a great mat, solid, stable, but didn&#8217;t fit my needs.</p>

If you want the most badass mat around, it&#8217;s the Manduka Pro, hands downward dog. I would say the only reason not to buy this mat is if you are looking for a travel mat &#8211; this one is HEAVY.</p>
<p>I am looking forward to years of yoga. This size is the best, less weight, thick enough for the POWER 90 and P90X training.</p>
<p>With the Manduka, there was an immediate difference. It never bunches up and gets stickier with use. The mat is thicker, heavier and responsive to the body. Your feet feel both cradled and supported, while at the same time being firm enough to balance upon. For my students who have trouble with their knees in some of the poses requiring the body weight to rest on a knee, I recommend temporarily folding over one end of the mat to get double cushion under the knee while still leaving one layer under the rest of the body. This saves you having to haul more than one mat out each time you practice which can be discouraging especially to the beginner.</p>
<p>It will last forever and is well worth the money! It&#8217;s ideal for Ashtangis.</p>

<p>This is the first yoga workout mat I have ever bought so I don&#8217;t have any other mats to compare it with. It was recommended by the workout program I have started and it has been worth every penny spent.</p>
<p>Yes, 7 pounds. Put this mat down on carpet, and you&#8217;ll have no problems&#8211;it will not buckle or give in downward facing dog.</p>
<p>If you sweat a lot, then you&#8217;ll probably also want to grab a towel: Manduka Large Towel. All of these products together will run you about $160, which is A LOT, I know, but what price is ultimate comfort when you&#8217;re practicing your daily asanas&#8221; I&#8217;m amazed that it looks the same as when I bought it. I practice 90 minutes on it 4 or 5 times a week, mostly Ashtanga.</p>
<p>I bought the mat with the matching bag as a set from Amazon.com, and once I slid the movable shoulder pad up to cover the buckle, off I went. As far as slippage is concerned, I experienced some foot slippage the first time I used it but have had no problems since.</p>
<p>It was expensive than other mats but I think I made the wise choice to buy this one. It is long enough and thick enough. It&#8217;s not too thin or too thick. It&#8217;s perfect and roles up nicely when I&#8217;m done with it. That&#8217;s what I did. I&#8217;m a yoga instructor and decided to treat myself to a primo yoga mat when my old mat started to wear thin.</p>
<p>So while I would love for the traction to be better, the comfort on my knees is completely worth the money. Well-reviewed, used by my teachers and more experienced fellow students, well-cushioned, generously sized, but sadly, I have returned it. This is a good mat, but a bit slippery when wet. I&#8217;m not sure the mat is worth buying if you sweat a lot, since you&#8217;ll need to put a towel on it anyway. Highly recommend this mat for everyone! Pay the high price, it&#8217;s so worth it!</p>
<p>I have high expectations for this mat. I don&#8217;t have any complaints really.</p>

<p>Nowadays, people are so conscious about their health and body figure. Many people regularly visit the gym for weight training, cardiovascular exercise, or to simply have friends who share their passion for fitness. Many fitness gyms offer the latest in weight and cardio-machines. Others specialize in special fitness programs or routines like Pilates, Tae-Bo, Belly Dancing, Hip-Hop Exercises, and even Pole Dancing.</p>
<p>All the goals of Yoga are expressed in different ways among a lot of different traditions. In Hinduism the main thought is that yoga brings people closer to God. In Buddhism practices, yoga is supposed to help people get a deeper sense of wisdom, compassion, and insight. In some of the farther Western countries, individualism is the strongest emphasis, so yoga would help people there get a better meaning in themselves. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A slipped disc, otherwise known as a herniated disc, is a widespread cause of back pain. numerous things can cause a disc to slip out of position, but it is first helpful to be able to imagine what a healthy back bone or spine looks like. The spine is a succession of discs sitting each on top of the one below with all the foremost nerves running through and along side of it.</p>
<p>That is, they do not sit completely on top of each other, there is a space between them, which allows us to bend and twist. When we stand up straight, the discs are meant to go back to their original position, which is perfectly horizontal, quarter to and quarter past the hour on the clock face.</p>
<p>A slipped disc is usually when the lowest disc does not return to its regular place but sticks at, say, twenty to and ten past the hour. The lower edge of the disc, the side pointing to twenty to the hour might come to rest on a major nerve &#8211; like the sciatic nerve which runs from the waist down to the foot on either side of the body.</p>
<p>This condition is called a slipped disc with a trapped nerve. The pain it causes originates in the low back but radiates into the buttock and down the leg following the sciatic nerve. Lots of people call this sciatica. It is not the sciatic nerve&#8217;s fault that it is giving pain &#8211; it is completely healthy &#8211; but it is being squashed by the herniated disc which is causing it to become inflamed.</p>
<p>Therapy for this condition concentrates on alleviating the pain and getting the disc to float back to the horizontal, thus freeing the nerve and ceasing the leg pain. Often the leg pain is much worse than the back pain.</p>
<p>In my case, the back pain is always there as a dull ache, but I can live with that. The real problems comes around three to five minutes after standing up. A pain starts in my calf like severe cramp and that rises into my buttock making my leg too painful to place on the ground. The sole relief is to sit down again or to take my weight on my arms by leaning on a table.</p>
<p>I have found some stretch exercises to help, but because I cannot stand for long, lots of of them are ruled out. Despite not exercising a lot, I have lost around 14 pounds and this has assisted my back to some extent.</p>
<p>If my back becomes bad, I lie on the floor and place my feet up, so that my posture resembles a sitting position, but without the weight of my upper body on my slipped disc. This is very helpful. I have also discovered that adopting the foetal position assists a lot.</p>
<p>I also have massage therapy every 7-10 days. It hurts a great deal at the time, but by the time the masseuse is walking down the drive, I already feel better and my condition continues to improve until she returns. Six weeks ago, I could not walk, now I am able to walk around 500 metres without help.</p>

If you have any bad habits as you do your job the issue can be made worse. You will be glad to know though, that methods exist to help you deal with carpal tunnel syndrome, and relieve the pain your hands and wrists are going through.</p>
<p>Surgery is one of the options for dealing with this condition, and some do opt for it. When people have tried other treatments to handle the symptoms of this condition with no luck, they then choose surgery. But be warned that this surgery often harms you more than helps you. Even though the pressure that the median nerve is under is alleviated, this can leave your hands weakened, due to the cutting of the transverse carpal ligament. But no one can ever know the exact affect a surgery can have.</p>
<p>Aside, from that there are several weeks of recovery ahead of you, and a price tag of up to $10,000 to contend with. If your surgery doesn&#8217;t help you get back to work, then you are certainly in some trouble.
