Is Laser Liposuction A Good Way To Reduce Fats?
In this day and age, we hardly have a lack of anything. In fact, we have so much abundance of goods and services that we are often spoiled for choice. We get everything handed down to us on a golden spoon (or a computer screen for that matter).
Why should liposuction be any different? Today, we are a far cry away from those first liposuction procedures where sections of fat were manually hacked away by doctors. 30 years of constant development have made liposuction practices much safer, and the recovery period much faster. We have only those experimenting doctors to thank.
Today, the wide range of liposuction options include:
1. Traditional Liposuction, where no liquefying agent is used: This is a long forgotten method, and not in use today because of the high loss of blood, and great pain involved.
2. Wet and Super-wet Liposuction proceeds with the injection of a fluid to facilitate fat removal and reduce bleeding, as doctors learn that more fluid meant lesser blood loss.
3. Tumescent Liposuction: almost double the quantity of solution than used in the super-wet liposuction. The capillaries shrink, thereby reducing blood loss. A vacuum tube, called the cannula, is inserted to remove the fat.
4. Ultrasound assisted liposuction (UAL): A special tube is used to convey ultrasound waves to the fat, which then breaks it up, converting it into liquid, which is finally pumped out. This minimizes trauma, and is useful on fibrous areas of the body.
Yet none of these techniques can beat the latest one: where laser is used to do all the dirty work. Laser liposuction uses thermal energy to dissolve the fat, which may be drained naturally by the body’s lymphatic system.
Laser liposuction is all the rage, because it involves small cannulas, which means tiny cuts and minimal invasion, with a lower risk of infection or bruising. Smaller instruments aim for smaller incisions that leave negligible scars behind.
However, laser liposuction, like all other forms, does have its risks, and you should fully evaluate these before proceeding for any cosmetic treatment. The patient could suffer from skin burns or loss of skin, caused by the excessive heat from the laser. This can be avoided with the right doctor who knows exactly what hes doing.
However, in the end, whichever method you choose is based on your personal preference and your body’s needs. Be sure to do your homework and research each option thoroughly before you choose”you do not want someone doing a botched job on that figure that’s set to wow the world!
